Home Insulation – A Primer

Home insulation is any product used inside a home to insulate a building. While most insulation in modern buildings is strictly for thermal reasons, the word “insulation” also refers to sound insulation, fireproof insulation, and impact insulation as well. There are many different types of insulation that can be added to homes, but many home builders use insulating products that do not have a direct impact on the temperature inside the building. These insulating products are usually a combination of two or more products. Checkout insulate a home for more info.

One common type of insulating material is an insulated sheet, which has a sheet of polystyrene foam sandwiched between two sheets of thermal or radiant barrier insulation. These sheets are often referred to as hot air barriers because the sheet acts as a barrier that holds the hot air from escaping the room. Another popular type of insulator is polyurethane foam insulation, which is applied on the interior of a building or crawl space. This type of insulator is less efficient than the hot air barrier because it does not work well with a radiant barrier. This is why the radiant barrier works best. The final type of insulator is drywall insulation, which is also known as liquid rubber.

It is always a good idea to have a professional do your home insulation because he or she will know what the right materials are and will be able to install them effectively. A good home insulation company will also have the necessary tools and materials needed to complete the job. Once your insulation is installed, make sure to follow all instructions to make sure you do not have any problems with the installation.
